I find myself disappointed and deeply disgusted that the Utah Education Association has chosen to take this so-called job action. It is laughable in its absurdity because the teachers will still work the same number of days in the school year and will not forfeit pay as a result of this action. While I believe schools need our support, this method is nothing short of terrorism.

If Utah teachers don't like what they are paid, they should do what every other profession does — go work somewhere else.

The schools already get every dollar we pay in income taxes, and they think that's not enough. Sorry, but you don't get sympathy from me on this one, and I have yet to talk to anyone else who supports UEA's plans.

Welcome to a free-market economy. Sounds like it is time to introduce the voucher system to allow parents to take the money provided by the tax base and use it to fund private education. UEA has succeeded in convincing at least one person, who was sitting on the fence, that the UEA is a bunch of dangerous radicals who need to be removed from public education.

In short, UEA's so-called efforts are not appreciated by this member of the community, and you have created someone who will remain a vocal enemy from this point forward of the UEA.
