PAROWAN — A St. George man has been arrested after a gun was fired at a contractor in Parowan.
The man, 45, was being held in the Iron County jail Tuesday pending a bail hearing on a number of charges, including aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, DUI and criminal mischief.
The incident began when the man went to talk to a contractor Sunday at a home-construction site in Parowan, said Sgt. Preston Griffith.
The suspect, who was drunk, began arguing with the contractor over money owed by one of the subcontractors, Griffith said.
He then threatened to kill the contractor, walked back to his car and pulled out a .44 Magnum.
Griffith said the suspect fired one round in the direction of the contractor and two into a concrete mixer.
Police stopped the man a short time later and arrested him without incident.
