RICHFIELD, Utah--<! > Orean Barney, 84, of Richfield, Utah, passed away December 4, 2000, in Richfield, Utah.

He was born August 28, 1916, in Esca-lante, Utah, to Afton L. and Lillie Nielsen Barney. He married Faye Huntsman March 25, 1939, in Richfield, Utah. They were sealed for time and all eternity on December 3, 1980, in the Manti LDS Temple. His wife and sweetheart, Faye, was his constant eternal companion and helpmate.

Orean was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Asiatic Campaign. He was a very Patriotic person and loved his country. He taught his children and grandchildren to respect the flag. He also earned the name "Rock Hound" for his geological expertise. If he wasn't home he would be in the mountains or in the mines prospecting. He passed this tradition on to his sons.

He was an active member of the LDS Church and loved the Lord. He had a strong testimony of the power of the priesthood. Orean loved being with his family and grandchildren. His granddaughters were affectionately known as his "sunshine girls".
