Our precious wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother died peacefully just prior to her 81st birthday.
She had unconditional love for everyone and everything, hated pettiness, meanness, and scorned those who would pick on the weak. The youngest of ten children daughter of Oskar K. and Wilhelmina Vertanen Mantyla. She married Manuel Garcia, Jr. on September 21, 1939.
She is survived by her husband, children Sonny (Louise), Pat Morgan, Gil (Shelley), Lydia (Terry) Manning, Juanita Corbett, Linda Cooper, Carlos Garcia, 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her son Manuel (Babe) Garcia, III.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 E. 100 South, where the funeral service will be held Thursday 2:30 p.m. also at the mortuary. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Ave. and T Street.
