Cecil Eleazer Webb, 87, passed peacefully away in his home, surrounded by his sweetheart and all of their children, on Monday, December 4, 2000.

Cecil was born in Lehi, Utah to Ernest Nephi and Annie Loveridge Webb, on April 9, 1913. He married his eternal companion, Cleo Royle Webb, on January 4, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised six children and enjoy the love and respect of 36 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Brother Webb was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Countless lives were touched by his quiet example of honesty, integrity, strength, courage and faith. He served several missions for the Church, including one to the Northern States Mission (1934-36), a stake mission to the Spanish speaking people in Mesa, Arizona (1945-49) and a Welfare Services Mission in Guayaquil, Ecuador accompanied by his wife (1979-81). For 15 years, he served as an Ordinance Worker and Sealer in the Ogden and Bountiful temples. Among his many callings in the church were his service as a member of the Bishopric, Sunday School President, MIA President, Ward Clerk and Stake Clerk. Cecil graduated from Lehi High School and attended Brigham Young University. He was a graduate of the School of Horology in Los Angeles. He worked as a Jeweler and Master Watch Maker for over 50 years, owning his own businesses in Utah, California and Arizona. During World War II, he worked as a Fine Instrument Technician at Williams AFB in Arizona (1942-45). Cecil and Cleo enjoyed many activities together including travel, temple work, genealogical research, ballet, opera, camping and golf. Congestive heart failure slowed his activities during the last four years of his life, but he continued to enjoy spending time with his family. Throughout his life he magnified his calling as a faithful priesthood holder and family patriarch. He truly endured to the end and while we will miss his kind, quiet nature and quick wit, we know that heaven is a little brighter because of his presence.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Nephi Webb and Annie Loveridge and by his older brother Ernest Donald Webb. He is survived by his wife, Cleo Royle Webb, his brother Allen Kurt Webb (Mesa, AZ), his sister Annie Ila Webb Adams (Salt Lake City, UT), Ernest John Webb, who is a nephew but was raised as his brother, his six children, Dr. Cecil W. Webb (Shirley), Cleo VeAnn Gibson (Keith), JoAnn Harrison (Daniel), Richard R. Webb (Linda), Dr. Celia Blackburn (Mike), Allen G. Webb (Lynette) and many grandchildren, relatives and friends.
