Lydia Payne Bodell, 87, our loving mom and grandma, passed

away peacefully December 4, 2000.

She was born March 7, 1913 in Georgetown, Idaho to Nephi Walter and Ada Smart Payne. On June 12, 1929 she married Samuel C. Bodell in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Samuel preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1982. Lydia was very proud of being related to 13 of the original pioneers, three of whom were her grandparents. She has been active in LDS Church organizations including, MIA, Primary and was in a Relief Society presidency, and was a visiting teacher, and served four years as a DUP Captain. She loves home crafts and has made over 50 quilts plus pillow cases, tablecloths, etc. She enjoyed life and made many friends in her travels. Lydia enjoyed being a hairstylist and was considered by her family and friends as a gracious and devoted lady.

Carol Ann Burgon (Jack), Shirleen Johnstun and Glenna Harmon; daughter-in-law, Barbara Bodell; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grand-children; brothers, J.S. Payne and Kenneth Payne. Preceded in death by son, Jack; sons-in-law, Dick Johnstun and Ed Harmon; parents;

four brothers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 8, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel 8090 So. State where friends may call Thurs. 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
