JetBlue's nonstop service from Salt Lake City to New York City has proved to be a hit.
The red-eye service that started in November from Salt Lake City International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport has been leaving Salt Lake at 80 percent to 90 percent capacity, according to Kate Hart, manager of JetBlue in Salt Lake.
Hart told the Utah Air Travel Commission on Tuesday that service at JFK International began Feb. 12 with three flights to Buffalo, N.Y. JetBlue has added 11 cities since, including Salt Lake City.
But the airline isn't finished yet. It may offer connecting service to Washington, D.C., and plans to add a new city every five weeks for the next three years, she said.
The late-night flights have been attractive because of low fares. They range between $99 and $249 one-way.
