A man wanted for raping his 5-year-old daughter and allowing other adults to engage in sexual acts with her was arrested Wednesday night following a standoff with police.
The suspect, 33, surrendered to SWAT team members after barricading himself in his home at 1059 S. 900 West. His mother, 49, was arrested after allegedly trying to interfere with the arrest.
The man and the victim's mother, 36, are wanted on a number of charges, including rape of a child, sodomy, aggravated sexual abuse of a child, sexual exploitation of a minor and lewdness.
Police were still looking Thursday morning for the mother.
Court documents said the victim's father and mother engaged in sexual acts with their daughter and with each other in front of her. The parents also allowed other adults to engage in sexual acts with their daughter and photographed those acts, court documents said.
The mother and father also made their daughter watch pornographic movies and copy things she saw.
The daughter was molested while the couple lived in a home in West Valley City from Jan. 1, 1998 to April 30, 1999.
The man is being held on a $150,000 cash-only bail. If convicted, both parents face life in prison.
