Margaret S. Shingleton Johnson passed away December 2, 2000 in Salt Lake City,

after a lengthy illness.

She was born on April 12, 1926 to Stephen Samuel and Marie Dalebout Shingleton. She married Vaughn Fuller Johnson on February 7, 1942 in Salt Lake City. Vaughn preceded her in death on September 26, 2000.

Margaret was a member of the LDS Church. She worked for Deseret Press for a number of years before joining her husband in their own business, Vaughn Johnson and Sons Inc. Also worked for B.R.J. Mechanical Inc. and

together Margaret and Vaughn managed an apartment house for the last 14 years in Salt Lake City. Margaret was best known for

being a very head strong and outspoken independent woman, but always had time for those that needed her attention and advice. She will be missed.

Margaret is survived by five sons: Vaughn, Rocky, Norman, Bill and Clifford, their spouses and grandchildren, and great grandchildren, three brothers, Samuel Shingleton (Oregon) Chris Shingleton (Bountiful), and Bill Loveland, (West Valley). Preceded in death by parents and four sisters.

It was Margaret's wish to be cremated. There will be a graveside memorial service for both Margaret and Vaughn, on Saturday December

9, 2000, 2 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 355 No. 1100 East.
