Brent Hatch, age 59, died Dec. 5, 2000.
Born January 3, 1941 in Salt Lake, son of Boyd O. and Bessie Dickson Hatch. He grew up in the 20th Ward on the Avenues. He was an Eagle Scout
and attended West High and Westminster College. He worked at EIMCO, Unisource and at Ice House Auctions.
Brent, an amazing story teller--some of which was true--had a big heart and cared about people. He dazzled folks with his brilliance or baffled them with B.S.
He liked Gooseberry Pie, cold beer, reading World War II History and the obituaries. He enjoyed the mating rituals of the Blue Footed Booby and Jack the dog. He disliked intolerance, cold weather, Republicans, bankers named Barry, The Gorgon Ruzicka, Rush and Orrin.
Preceded in death by his father and the love of his life, Ginger. Survived by his mother; sister, Beverly Rasmussen; brother, Bruce (Delia) Hatch; nieces and nephews, Stephen, Debi, Scott, Tom, Mark, Jeff, Sarah, Jason, Ashley, and many friends.
Graveside service will be Friday, 2 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, North Entrance (11th Ave 920 E). A gathering of friends also will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Elks Club, 4894 South State, Murray.
