As is so often the case, the baby who appeared in the pilot episode of the CBS sitcom "Yes, Dear" did not make it onto the series — that pilot was shot early in the year and the baby was no longer quite so baby-like when the show went into production in August "The other baby in the pilot was one of a set of triplets who, unfortunately, have grown to not look so much like each other anymore. So they have been replaced," said executive producer Alan Kirschenbaum, who deadpanned, "It's not their fault. They were very, very good."

Multiples are preferred because, of course, there's a second or third baby if the first one gets cranky during filming. And finding replacement babies wasn't difficult.

"Apparently, any time there's a set of twins born in the greater Los Angeles area, beepers go off all over show business," Kirschenbaum said. "And everyone knows when there's twins, get them an agent immediately. You can get them at any age. It's one of the most horrifying things you've ever seen in your life."
