Since 1983 the Deseret Foundation has sponsored a biannual Holiday Quilt Show and Auction to benefit research and education programs at LDS Hospital. In 1999 information on some of the exceptional quilts produced over the years was gathered into a book called "Magnificent Harvest: Quilts From the Heart."
On Saturday prominent quilter and educator Cody Mazuran will showcase some of the quilts featured in the book at a trunk show at the new Mormon Handicraft store, 15 W. South Temple. The show begins at 2 p.m. Copies of the book will also be available.
These quilts, notes Lonni Thorpe in the book, "are monuments, not only to the extraordinary talents of the artists, but to their generosity and their commitment to community service."
