Auditions have been scheduled for several upcoming stage productions.
The SCERA Center will hold auditions on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 11 and 12 (7-9 p.m. both days), for Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's "Into the Woods," being staged April 13-May 7 in the SCERA's indoor showhouse. Kathleen Nutt is directing. All roles are open. Men and women, ages 18-50, are invited to audition. Come prepared with 16 measures of two contrasting musical-theater songs. StageRight TheaterCompany is holding auditions on Dec. 12, from 7-9 p.m., and Dec. 13, from 7-8 p.m. (the latter followed immediately by call-backs) for William Inge's "Bus Stop," being presented March 10-April 7. Mike Brown is directing. Auditions will be held in the theater, 1140 S. 900 East. There are roles for five men, ages 19-65, and three women, from 16-55. (The actor playing Virgil, a slow-moving ranch hand, must be able to play the guitar.)
Hale Center Theater Orem's auditions for the regional premiere of the recent off Broadway hit, "Over the River and Through the Woods," will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m., by appointment only. Syd Riggs is directing.
Parts urgently needed to be filled are for a grandmother and grandfather. There are also roles for one male and one female, 20 to 30 years of age. Call the theater at 226-8600 to schedule an audition time. Play dates are Feb. 9-March 17.
