The Utah Supreme Court Tuesday ruled that authors of a Utah Bar article did not defame former attorney Gary Pendleton when they wrote about his suspension.

The St. George attorney was suspended for use and distribution of methamphetamine in March of 1998 and was disbarred a year later.

The 5th District Court denied the Bar's motion to dismiss Pendleton's defamation suit.

But the Supreme Court reversed that decision, saying that it was within the Bar's duty to provide other members with disciplinary results.
