Workers prepare for the Friday morning opening of the $65 million South Towne Exposition Center, located at 9575 S. State. Those on hand to celebrate the opening will include the Sandy City Police SWAT, DARE and K-9 units, a fire-simulator trailer presented by the Sandy City Fire Department, and a number of local dance groups. Meadow Gold Dairies will be selling ice cream, with proceeds going to the Snowbird Adaptive Ski Program. The new Expo Center is scheduled to host a number of local trade shows and national sporting events throughout the coming year. It has five exhibit halls and three meeting rooms.
