Foundation for Creative Dance will offer a free, three-weekend teacher's workshop at the Joy of Movement Dance Studio, 1597 S. 1100 East, in Sugar House. The workshops will also provide children, ages 4 through 12, free dance classes.
On Saturday, Dec. 16, children ages 4-5, will be able to participate in the class, which will run 1:30-2:30 p.m.
The next class will be held for children ages 6-8 the following Saturday, Dec. 23, from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
The last class will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, at the times announced above, and is designed for children ages 9-12.
The workshops are designed to provide a creative atmosphere that incorporates ideas from teachers and children to create new movement projects for class involvement. The Foundation for Creative Dance is directed by Ann Brown, niece of the late Virginia Tanner, founder of the Virginia Tanner Creative Dance program at the University of Utah.
