A head-on collision killed one woman and required three medical helicopters to take other victims to local hospitals Wednesday night.

Killed was:Tiffany Brown Fillmore-Flitton, 22, Midvale.

At 6:20 p.m. Fillmore-Flitton was driving westbound on 7800 South near 8000 West when she swerved to miss a dog in the road. Her car went into the eastbound lane where it collided head-on with a pickup truck, West Jordan Police Lt. Bob Shober said.

The truck's driver, Noel Ferguson, 71, West Jordan, was taken to LDS Hospital with injuries to his knee and collarbone. He was listed in critical condition Thursday morning.

Fillmore-Flitton's passengers -- her husband, Buddy Flitton, 22, and their daughter, Sky Marie Flitton, 6, were also hospitalized.

Buddy Flitton was taken to University Hospital. His condition was unavailable Thursday. Sky Flitton was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center with a facial fracture, where she was listed in serious condition Thursday.

Fillmore-Flitton died at the scene, Shober said.

Both cars were likely going about 50 mph when they collided, he said.

The dog, which was also hit by Fillmore-Flitton, was transported to an animal hospital. Its condition was unknown Thursday.
