How much longer must we be subject to comments about the government having an obligation to force insurance companies to pay for mental illness?

It would behoove those who are touting the wonders of psychiatric and psychological help to research such simple facts as statistics and results, which are readily available. Many broken marriages result from people "who are doing what makes them feel good" (a well-known bit of psychiatric advice) rather than what is right and moral.

Violence in schools is directly attributable to a frightening increase in children under the effects of highly controversial and addictive psychotropic drugs.

Senseless shootings in a Salt Lake genealogy center, a Los Angeles Jewish center, a Seattle shipyard, an Atlanta brokerage firm, etc. were committed by adults on the same chemicals.

One can definitely argue that the mental-health field is getting results, as you can see from my examples, but I don't think that those are the results we are asking for.

In fact, numerous states have laws that make it possible to prosecute drug pushers whose "clients" commit violent acts or even suicide. It's a wonder we don't see more psychiatrists in jail.

If by some fate mental-health parity becomes a legal reality, let's all swallow our pill and never again utter a word next time someone goes on a shooting rampage after having been given psychiatric "help" mandated by the state.
