A 4th District jury last week awarded $1 million to a Utah County woman whose husband died in an industrial accident.

Patty Bishop and her children sued Gentec, a Kentucky company that constructed a dirt silo used at the Spanish Fork plant of Valley Asphalt. Douglas Bishop died in July 1997 when the silo malfunctioned and he climbed a ladder to inspect it. While he was perched on the ladder, a gate closed and pinned Bishop.The wrongful death suit was filed in September 1997. The jury's decision came Friday.
