Dean Timbrel Worlton, 85, died Feb. 1, 2000 at American Fork Hospital.

He was born July 12, 1914 in Lehi, Utah to Dr. Fredrick Daniel and Lena Verl Sowards Worlton. Graduated from Lehi High School where he served as Student Body president.Served full-time mission for the LDS Church from 1934 to 1937 in the German-Austrian Mission. Married Ivy Jennette Russon, March 21, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Bachelors degree in Biological Science from the University of Utah in 1937. Masters degree in School Administration from Brigham Young University in 1962. Counselor at Lehi High School and teacher of Algebra and English. In 1959 he became principal of Lehi High and was later appointed to the Alpine School District Administration as Director of Pupil Personnel and Supervisor of Special Education Services and also served on the American Fork Hospital Board of Trustees.

LDS Church service included Stake Sunday School superintendent, Bishop's Counselor, Stake High Council, Bishop of Lehi 2nd Ward, Lehi Stake president, Mission president of the Switzerland Zurich mission from 1977-1980, counselor in the Presidency of the Missionary Training Center, and sealer in the Provo Temple.

Among his many accomplishments, Dean will be best remembered for his kindness to all and his love and devotion to his family and friends. His life stands as an example to all who knew him.

Dean is survived by his wife, Ivy; and children, David Timbrel, Donald Louis (deceased), Janette Louise, and Douglas Steven; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral, Monday, Feb. 7, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Lehi Utah Stake Center, 200 No. Center St. Friends may call at the Stake Center, Sunday evening, Feb. 6th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and also Monday 9-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery under direction of Wing Mortuary, Lehi.
