WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) -- A man who was interviewed on TV for wearing shorts during recent cold weather has been arrested on a theft charge after he was spotted by police.
"I think we have a warrant for that guy," investigator Alan Moore said after seeing Keith Walentowski's name flash across the screen.A television reporter was talking about the weather last week with Walentowski, a 30-year-old student at Old Dominion University in Norfolk. Walentowski said it didn't bother him because he's from Michigan.
Walentowski, based on a warrant issued last summer, allegedly stole an acquaintance's baseball cards, Moore said. Conviction of grand larceny carries up to 20 years in prison.
Moore contacted university officials to learn where the man lived. Walentowski was being held in the Norfolk jail.
