HEBER — It's been a tough season so far for the Union Cougars, but they put a damper on the region title hopes of the Wasatch Wasps with a 51-46 overtime victory Friday.
Union (7-11, 4-4), which was ranked No. 1 in the preseason, led by 10 points at the end of the first quarter, but had to rally in the second half to send the game into overtime tied at 44-44.
Janeen Nelson, who finished with a game-high 16 points, sealed the victory for the Cougars in the extra session by draining five free throws.
Shalee Fackrell scored 12 points for Wasatch (12-6, 6-2), which dropped into a first-place tie with Judge in the Region 10 standings.

VIEWMONT 53, LAYTON 45: Tied at the end of three quarters, the Vikings pulled away in the fourth for the win as Kristen Crockett racked up 16 points and eight rebounds.
DAVIS 63, NORTHRIDGE 51: Becky Lochhead tossed in a career-high 18 points, and the Darts used a ferocious press in the fourth quarter to sink the Knights.
CLEARFIELD 44, COTTONWOOD 32: Hayley Barker hit four treys and finished with 18 points to lead the Falcons past the Colts.

KEARNS 64, HUNTER 34: Heather Little notched 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Nina Brunt added 10 points and 11 rebounds as the second-ranked Cougars cruised past the Wolverines.
TAYLORSVILLE 43, WEST JORDAN 41: Freshman Haylee Sodja hit a late 3-pointer and two free throws in the final moments to lift the Warriors past the Jaguars.
GRANGER 63, COPPER HILLS 48: Rebounding, hustle, and the 28-point, 11-rebound performance of Julianne Orgill led the Lancers to a road win over the Grizzlies.
BINGHAM 69, RIVERTON 40: The Miners played good defense in defeating the Silverwolves.

BOX ELDER 59, SKY VIEW 49: Trailing by five at halftime, the Bees rallied to tie the score after the third period, then poured it on in the fourth to dump the Bobcats. Lindsay Karren had 25 points for Box Elder, while Julie Wood topped Sky View with 29.
LOGAN 34, WEBER 31: The Grizzlies pulled out a tough, defensive game as Sonnet Udy led the offensive game with 12 points.
FREMONT 54, MTN. CREST 35: The Silverwolves earned the victory over the Mustangs.
BONNEVILLE 67, ROY 37: Kelsey Stireman tallied 23 points, seven steals and six assists in just over a half to lead the Lakers. Candace Dow added 18 points and four assists for B-Ville.
REGION 5
MURRAY 66, EAST 42: Anna Nelson's big night of 21 points and nine rebounds powered the Spartans past the Leopards. Lindy Whitley added 18 for Murray.
OLYMPUS 47, BOUNTIFUL 27: Annie Anderson did it all for the victorious Titans, recording 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one bag of popcorn sold in the stands.
WOODS CROSS 46, HIGHLAND 42: Oriah Harding tossed in 15 points for the Wildcats as they took a home win over the Rams.
CYPRUS 57, WEST 40: Monica Miller had 18 points on the offensive end for the Pirates, then came up with six steals while on defense to help thwart the Panthers.
REGION 10
UINTAH 61, LEHI 35: The Utes jumped out to an early lead and cruised past the Pioneers thanks to the 17-point effort of Hillary Enloe.
JUDGE 59, PARK CITY 20: Kim Constantinesco and Talia Hristou each scored 10 points, and Megan Terry hauled in 14 rebounds for the victorious Bulldogs.

MONTICELLO 47, DUCHESNE 44: The Buckaroos handed the Eagles their first loss in division play thanks to the 15-point outing of Jennifer Red.
REGION 16
GREEN RIVER 89, NAVAJO MTN. 46: Coralie Hughes led five Pirates in double figures with 27 points to finish the region season with a perfect record.
