SCOUTING REPORT: The Wildcats, who shared the Pac-10 crown with Stanford, are led by sophomore forward Michael Wright (15.8 ppg, 8.6 rpg) as well as freshman guards Gilbert Arenas (15.2 ppg, 4.1 rpg) and Jason Gardner (12.9 ppg, 4.9 apg) . . . Center Loren Woods (15.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg) will likely miss the tournament because of a back injury . . . Arizona won the 1997 national championship and has been to three Final Fours (1988, 1994, 1997) under head coach Lute Olson. He is one of three active coaches to take two different schools (Arizona, Iowa) to the Final Four . . . The Tigers surprised Southern in the SWAC championship game to earn their second NCAA berth in four years -- both trips followed disappointing regular seasons . . . SCOUTING REPORT: Texas returns to the Huntsman Center for the second time this season. The Longhorns dropped a 79-73 decision to Utah on Dec. 22 . . . Texas center Chris Mihm (17.8 ppg, 10.4 rpg) is one the top players in the nation. The junior is a shot-blocking force on defense . . . Texas coach Rick Barnes, who is in his first season with the Longhorns after stints at Providence and Clemson, is just 2-7 in NCAA tourney games . . . Indiana State is also in for a homecoming. The Sycamores are returning to the scene of their last NCAA tourney game -- the 1979 championship showdown with Michigan State . . . Ironically, senior guard Nate Green (14.1 ppg, 5 rpg, 4.3 apg) is the first Indiana State player since Larry Bird to earn Missouri Valley Conference player of the year honors . . . SCOUTING REPORT: The Tigers are making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1993 . . . Sophomore forward Stromile Swift (16.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg) is a projected lottery pick if he opts to turn pro. Swift is shooting 61.8 percent from the field and has blocked 83 shots this season . . . All five of LSU's starters are double-figure scorers . . . LSU has more turnovers than assists. Thus, taking care of the ball is critical as the Tigers progress into the tournament . . . The Indians, who won the Ohio Valley Conference title, are making their first-ever NCAA tournament appearance . . . Junior point guard Michael Stokes is quick off the dribble and a good passer . . .
