Together Again

Our sweet angel mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lulu Elinor Stockham Rigby, age 94, passed from this life on March 11, 2000, to be reunited with her eternal companion, Merritt.Lulu and her twin brother Lew were born August 31, 1905, in Union, Utah, to Roy Lew and Sophie Johnson Stockham. She married her very best friend, Merritt O. Rigby, on January 7, 1926, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed to have nearly 68 years of marriage on this earth before he died on December 28, 1993.

Lulu was active in the LDS Church and lived in the Valley View 1st Ward for over 40 years until she moved to the Chateau Brickyard Retirement Center 18 months ago. In her younger years, she willingly served in many church callings.

She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Hers was a life given to exemplifying the teachings of the Savior. She will be missed greatly by all her family and friends.

Lulu is survived by her children, Gaylen (Jeanne) Rigby, and Verona (Keith) Johnson; eight grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merritt; son, Rene; two infant sons; four brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be 12 noon on Wed., March 15, 2000, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 Highland Drive, where friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wed., 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
