Mary Lehy Mendenhall, age 71, passed away on March 11, 2000, at LDS Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 16, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William Francis Leahy and Diana Moyes Leahy. Graduate of East High School. Married Keith B. Mendenhall on September 22, 1952, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Active member of the LDS Church, serving in many organizations. She especially enjoyed working with the children in Primary.

Retired as a secretary from the U of U LDS Institute. Lived 45 years in East Millcreek where she developed many lifelong friends. She was a caring, generous person who dearly loved her family. She bore her many trials with incredible cheerfulness and without complaint. She will be missed greatly by her family. "We love you, Mom."

Thanks to the nurses and doctors at HealthSouth, Cottonwood and LDS Hospitals, in particular Dr. Michael Wall whose skill and care are deeply appreciated.

Survived by son, Craig (Linda) Mendenhall; daughters, Janice (Steve) Rock, Joyce (Kyle) Miskin, Diane (Andy) Garcia, and Karen (Dan) Sandoval; 18 grandchildren; brother, Richard (Marilyn) Leahy; sister, Virginia Jones; mother-in-law, Thelma (Borwne) Mendenhall. Preceded in death by husband Keith B. Mendenhall, and mother Diana M. Slade.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 12 noon at East Millcreek 16th Ward, 3408 Celeste Way (3120 East). Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, and Wednesday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
