Scouters with long, dedicated records of service were in the Great Salt Lake Council spotlight Tuesday evening, March 7, in Bountiful.

Sixty men and women were presented the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor to be conferred by a local Scout council. First authorized by the BSA in 1932, the award honors recipients for "distinguished service to boyhood and impressive records of outstanding service in Scouting, church and the community."Council President R. Lawry Hunsaker, and his wife, Marilyn, presented the awards at the Bountiful Regional Center. James G. Davidson, Sandy, council commissioner and a local businessman, addressed the gathering.
