Fire investigators suspect an early morning fire Monday at a Salt Lake motel was deliberately set.

Salt Lake Fire Capt. Devin Villa said the blaze was reported at 5:05 a.m. When firefighters arrived, one room at the Temple View Motel, 325 N. 300 West, was completely engulfed, he said.Villa said the fire was brought under control within about 20 minutes, and damage, confined to the one room, was estimated at $10,000.

Villa said evidence at the scene suggests the fire was intentional.
