Jack Bodell, 68, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, died unexpectedly March 12, 2000.
Born September 19, 1931 in Georgetown, Idaho to Samuel C. and Lydia Payne Bodell. On June 12, 1952 Jack married Barbara Romney in Elko, Nevada. Jack worked for Kennecott Copper for 34 years as a Locomotive Engineer. His many hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing with his buddies five days a week, bow hunting and he enjoyed spending winter months at Yuma, Arizona where he had many friends. Jack was respected and admired by his friends and associates, and his sons and grandchildren considered him a role model. Life was a pleasure for Jack, and it was made richer by his activities with his sons and grandchildren.Survivors: wife, Barbara; sons, Michael, Don, Reed, Bryon (Melinda Brewster); grandchildren, Joshua, Kole, Lindsey, JaDee, Dalan, Shyloh and Tiesha; great granddaughters, Heaven Marie and Taylor; mother, Midvale; brother, Merlin; sisters, CaroleAnn (Jack Burgon); Shirleen Johnstun, Glenna Harmon; also survived by many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Alta Heights Ward Chapel, 1500 East 8600 South, Sandy. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
