OGDEN-- Richard Carl Hunter, 77, died March 10, 2000 in Ogden, Utah.

He was born September 2, 1922 in Provo to Alma Booth Hunter and Ethel Dora Riley.On September 2, 1954 he married Eilleen Harrison in the Salt Lake Temple.

He grew up in Provo, UT graduating from Provo High. He worked for the gover-nment in Hawaii as a radio operator during World War II and kept his interest in radio as a HAM operator (W7 STB) for the rest of his life. He enjoyed talking to people all over the world. He worked for Boeing in Seattle, then for Western Airlines in the control tower in Salt Lake and always loved aviation. He built his own aircraft and flew it for many years. He belonged to the Experimental Airplane Association (EAA). He worked for Hercules for many years and retired from Emerson in 1984.

He enjoyed fishing and loved to buy candy and stuffed animals and then give them to children in the stores. He donated much food and supplies to the rescue mission and YCC. He was a member of the LDS Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ogden; one brother, Dean (Mona) Hunter, Salt Lake; one sister, LaRue Hodson, Provo; and two step-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Thurs, March 16, 2000, 11 a.m. at the Mt. Lewis Stake Center, 1150 N. Monroe Blvd., Ogden. Friends and family may call at 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Arrangements under the direction of Leavitt's Mortuary.
