Clara Geneve Johnson Jensen, 86, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away March 12, 2000 in Orem, Utah at the home of her daughter.
She was born December 26, 1913 in Shelton, Idaho, to John and Matilda Ann Howard Johnson. Her parents were originally from Bountiful, Utah. She attended schools in Rigby, graduated from Ammon High School and is the last surviving child of 12. She married Vernal H. Jensen on July 2, 1935 in the Logan LDS Temple. They had 64 years together.Geneve was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Relief Society president in Swan Valley and Rigby, Idaho and served in the Primary presidencies in her Ward and Stake. She also served as a visiting teacher. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Geneve served two LDS missions with her husband. She belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and she was a Temple worker in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She sang at many funerals and functions throughout the valley. She also belonged to many singing groups.
Geneve is survived by one son and three daughters, Alice (Clyde) Walker, Orem, Utah; Marilyn Buck, Rigby, Idaho; Karen (Richard) Jenkins, Orem, Utah; Peter Jensen, Salmon, Idaho; 17 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernal, in 1999; two daughters; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 17, 2000 at 11 a.m. in Rigby 4th Ward Chapel.
A Viewing will be held Thursday evening, March 16 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel from 7-8:30 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery, Ucon, Idaho.
