Obituary: Rex L. Sohm

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Rex L. Sohm, age 79, passed away on March 17, 2000 at his home in St. George, Utah.

He was born August 14, 1920 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Samuel LeRoy and Zella Vivian Wells Sohm. He married his lifetime sweetheart Kathryn Salm on September 15, 1944 in Salt Lake LDS Temple.Rex was a member of the LDS Church and a Veteran of World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was an architect and worked for the LDS Church for 19 years. He spent four years in the Nauvoo restoration.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn of St. George, Utah; three daughters and one son: Linda Sohm of St. George, Utah; Karma (Dane) McBride of Roanoke, Virginia; Darryl (Susan) Sohm of La Habra Heights, CA; and Diane Andersen of Salt Lake City, Utah; 14 grandchildren; two sisters: Elaine (Max) Moffett of Salt Lake City, Utah and Rozell (Lund) Henrie of Bountiful, Utah. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, K. Christian Andersen, and his brother, Keith Sohm.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 20, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Garden Park 2nd LDS Ward Chapel at 1150 East Yale Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Garden Park 2nd Ward. Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
