Don R Draper, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend passed on March 26, 2000 at his home in Pleasant Grove.

For 80 years he enriched the lives of others and through example taught that family above all is the most important thing. He was born August 3, 1919 in Bingham, Utah to Clive Grant and Mary Leone Stratton Draper. Most of his early years were spent in Wallsburg and in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Utah and California. On March 7, 1942, he married mother, Florence Shepherd, in Kimball, Nebraska. Their union was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.Don served with honor in North Africa and Italy during World War II. For 32 years, he worked at Geneva Steel; for 21 of those years he also ran Draper Roofing Co. Dad and mother moved to Pleasant Grove in 1953. They later served an LDS Mission at the Idaho Falls Visitors Center. He was a high priest at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife and four children: Richard Don (Barbara) of Lindon; Linda Gayle (Paul) Smith, American Fork; Sterling R (Joyce Ann) of Kamas; and Kendall J (Michelle) of American Fork; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, the last arriving three hours and 20 minutes after her great-grandfather's passing. He is also survived by his sister Shanna Haas.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Timpanogos First Ward Chapel, 520 North 400 East, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery with military rites conducted by District IV of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
