The Cougars are next in action on Thursday night when they start a three-game series and return to conference action at San Diego State.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Alex Jensen, who recently completed his career at the University of Utah, will be among the sharpshooters competing in the 12th annual College Slam Dunk & Three-Point Basketball Championships on Thursday night in Indianapolis.

Jensen, who ranked 16th in the NCAA in 3-point shooting at 45.7 percent this season, will compete against seven other of the nation's best long-range-shooting seniors. ESPN will broadcast the competition at 7 p.m. MST.

SWIMMING: University of Utah Swim Director Dennis Tesch has announced his resignation to pursue other interests. Tesch, the 1995 Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, has coached the Ute men's team for the past seven years and the women's team since 1998. As the men's coach, Tesch compiled a 39-26-1 record and won two WAC Championships (1994 and 1995). In three years as head coach of the women's program, Tesch was 10-23. Both teams finished fifth at the 2000 Mountain West Athletic Conference Championships.
