MIDVALE -- The Community Emergency Winter Shelter will close its doors Saturday and is looking for money to support it next winter.

"We are already seeking funds for next year's program and are hoping the community will help us raise the $900,000 needed to provide this emergency service," said Pamela Atkinson, of the Travelers Aid Society advisory board.Travelers Aid operates the shelter in Midvale as an overflow to the Salt Lake Community Shelter and Self Sufficiency Center downtown. The overflow facility, which opened Nov. 1, provided temporary housing for 2,478 individuals.
