BOUNTIFUL -- The Renaissance Towne Centre, Bountiful's Five Points Mall replacement project, will be worth an estimated $100 million, developers announced Thursday.
The redevelopment of the mall, which is the largest piece of commercially zoned property in Bountiful, will start this year.Developers and city officials cited the area's average household income of $71,173 as one indication the new center will be a success.
"(The Bountiful area) has some of the highest economic patterns in the state," said co-developer Bruce Broadhead.
The city hopes the center's stores, restaurants, office tower and Sports Center will attract south Davis County residents, who have been spending money in other cities like Salt Lake City because of the lack of stores in the area.
