Elsie E. Lord, born August 20, 1913 in Callao, Utah, passed away March 29, 2000 in San Diego, California following complications from pneumonia and heart failure.
She was raised in Utah, graduating from the Wasatch Academy in 1931. She was the wife of the late Walter Frances Lord and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles F. Timm, Buster Timm and Eugene Timm, all of Utah. She moved with Mr. Lord to Oroville, California in 1945 where he worked for the Western Pacific Railroad. For many years she worked for Montgomery Wards and the PG&E. From 1969 to 1997 she lived in Stockton, California where she also worked for the Western Pacific RR until she retired. She was very active in the Stockton Seniors Community and loved to square dance, play bridge, golf and take cruises and vacation trips with her friends. In 1996 she traveled to London, England to visit with her grandson Brad and his family. In 1997 she took a cruise through the Panama Canal. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She celebrated her 86th birthday with family and friends where she lived at Villa Monte Vista in San Diego.She is survived by her son, Norman Lord of San Diego; her brother, Irl Timm of Callao, UT; three grandsons, Brad Lord of London, England; Scott Lord of Santa Rosa, CA; and Matt Lord of San Diego; and three great-grandchildren, Georgia, Weston and Abigail Lord, all of London, England.
Memorial services were held at an LDS Church in San Diego on Monday, April 3.
A graveside memorial service and interment will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 2 p.m., Friday, April 28th.
