Motorists traveling east through Tooele County on I-80 soon will have another place to stop and take a break.

Thursday, the Utah Department of Transportation will open the $4 million Grassy Mountain rest area about 60 miles west of Salt Lake City near Clive.A grand opening ceremony will be Thursday at 2 p.m.

The rest area is accessed only from eastbound I-80. To reach it from Salt Lake City, motorists can take westbound I-80 to the Clive exit (exit 49), enter eastbound I-80 and drive five miles east to the rest area's entrance.
