Representatives of the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program will be available at two Salt Lake locations to offer assistance preparing and e-filing 1999 individual income tax returns. Volunteers will be at Valley Fair Mall, 3601 S. 2700 West, Saturday from noon-4 p.m., and the Salt Lake City Public Library, 209 E. 500 South, Monday from 5-8 p.m. (Tax returns are due by midnight Monday, April 17.)

The program offers free tax help to people who cannot afford paid professional assistance. Volunteers help prepare basic tax returns for taxpayers with special needs, including persons with disabilities, those with low or limited incomes, non-English speaking persons and the elderly.
