Mary Vario Johnson Evans, beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away on April 12, 2000 at the age of 85 in Tooele, Utah.

Born September 9, 1914 in Ophir, Utah to Patsy Vario and Etta Whitlock. She married Theron Johnson on September 7, 1930, later divorced. Married Marvin R. Evans, later divorced. Mary lived her early years on a Ranch in Ophir, where she married Theron and raised her family. Everyone loved dropping by to enjoy her homemade pies, cakes, biscuits, and bread. She was an excellent cook, and loved quilting. She made quilts for all of her family. She also loved playing the piano and singing, and caring for her flowers and lovely yard.She is survived by the following children: Mark (Eleanore) Johnson of Grants, New Mexico; Bessie (Buford) Seals of Mateca, California; Ronald (LaVae) Johnson of Riverton, Utah; Marietta (Nile) Fuell of Bluewater, New Mexico; Jeannette (Jack) Painter, and Maxine (Cliff) Shields all of Tooele, Utah; and Bernice (Ted) Morris of Tucson, Arizona; brothers and sisters, Ernie (Dorothy) Vario, Frank (Joan) Vario, Viola Egin, Lloyd (JoAnn) Vario, and sister-in-law Connie Vario. Her legacy consisted of 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a baby girl (Sharon); and by her husband Theron of 21 years, who loved her for a lifetime. Also preceded in death by brothers, Tony and Patsy Vario; sisters, Vera Peterson and Vonnie Eyre.

She will be greatly missed by everyone.

Funeral services will be held on Monday April 17, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 So Main St., Tooele. Friends may call at the Mortuary on Sunday April 16th from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior on Monday.
