As a part-time resident of your state, I've read and watched the news coverage from my home state faithfully and the media coverage of alleged racial profiling by police in Utah. I'm very concerned that the misperceptions of some might cause the police to be less effective in protecting the law-abiding citizens of this great state.
I retired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in January 1997 with intentions of moving to Utah permanently. However, I returned to work with LVMPD reviewing unsolved/unresolved murders (cold cases) as a civilian. I spend my three-day weekends in Kanarraville.I come from one of Utah's pioneer families and love this state. I teach homicide and major crime investigative classes all over the state, and I know that Utah has some of the finest cops that I've ever met. They're not racist or bigoted, they are professionals.
