Friends and family will gather today in honor of Donald Thomas, the library guard slain one year ago at the LDS Family History Library.

A potluck memorial dinner will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Westbrook 1st Ward, 6500 S. Dixie Drive (3710 West), followed by an open house from 7 to 8:30 p.m.KonaDee Thomas, the widow of Donald Thomas, said the event is for anyone who wants to share memories of her husband and remember his life.

The event is also a way for friends and others to get caught up on what has happened to the Thomas family in the year since the tragedy.

On Friday, a floral arrangement in memory of the victims was displayed in the library's lobby. The arrangement was to be given to the family for display at Saturday's memorial dinner at the church.
