Basel "Bea" Valentine Campbell Whitinger 89, passed away April 13, in Bountiful, Utah.
She was born April 6, 1911 in Hamburg, Germany. She was adopted in 1914, in Germany, by Hyrum and Rose Ellen Valentine and then brought back to Brigham City, Utah. She married Jack Campbell, he preceded her in death in 1974. She later married Donald Whitinger in Palm Springs, CA. He preceded her in death in 1982. She then moved to Salt Lake City to be near her family.She was employed for a number of years by Dr. Warburton, as a dental assistant. Due to her mother being the first woman dentist in Utah, she spent many years in this field. She enjoyed spending time with friends, family dinners, going to Wendover, and morning coffee and sweet rolls.
She is survived by her brother, D.J. Valentine; two grandchildren, Shauna R Hatton-Ward, John Ty Rasmussen; and great-grandchildren, Amberlee, and Louie Hatton-Ward; son-in-law, Laddie Rasmussen; and step-grandchild, Holly Rasmussen. She is preceded in death by her only daughter Marlae Valentine Rasmussen in May 1984.
Graveside services will be held Sat. April 15, at 1 p.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery.
