Editor's note: To commemorate the 150th year of continuous publication, The Deseret News is reprinting some of the letters to the editor published through the years.

Just for a few moments I turned the television set on to be faced with the preparations for that mud bath wrestling farce. I am not concerned with the match, but I was deeply concerned to notice how many minor children were present to witness what I must call, in all fairness, an absolutely inappropriate show for children.Coupled with this was the time, approximately 11:30 p.m.

Juvenile delinquency does not begin in one big swoop, but rather is the result of small infractions of a commonly accepted law or social etiquette or lack of parental guidance, such as was shown last Friday night.

No, I am not a bachelor with no experience of children but I am the father of 13 and have some very strict ideas on what my children should see and how late they should be up.

Of course there are people who will call me old fashioned, but I have had the joy of hearing my older children thank me for my "old fashioned methods of upbringing."
