LAYTON -- The seventh annual Wasatch Energy Systems Earth Day Expo celebration continues through Saturday in the center court of the Layton Hills Mall.

Davis County student science projects, essay and art exhibits relating to wise use and care of the environment will all be featured in a public display open daily at 10 a.m.The Layton Hills Mall is east of I-15, between freeway exits 334 and 335.

"The Earth Day Expo provides an excellent opportunity for citizens to increase their understanding of ways that citizens, business and government work together to care for the environment," said LeGrand Bitter, executive director of Wasatch Energy.

Besides the stationary displays, speech contests, theatrical presentations and other classroom projects are being staged during the week.

Wasatch Energy, operator of the Davis County burn plant and landfill, will also offer cash awards and savings bonds to the winning participants in the expo. Free public tours of the burn plant and landfill will also be offered during the week.
