WHITE CITY-- Paula Scholl, 82 passed on to her Heavenly Father April 17, 2000.
Her great strength was in perseverance, determination and the legacy of love she left in her children, Paulina F. Flint (William) and Mary L. Cozzolino (Steven). Born during an air raid in World War I Germany, Nov. 15, 1917 to Friedrich Karl and Anna Maria Simon Scholl she survived two world wars in Germany. Married Theodore Insencent Slovak in Regensburg Dec. 6, 1948. Embarking Bramerhafen Dec. 13, the Statue of Liberty embraced them to a new world of hope after enduring a young life of terrible struggle. Becoming a naturalized citizen Nov. 11, 1954 in Killeen, Texas she lived the Spartan army life while raising her children to value freedom, hard work and the belief that any good could be attained with the mind, will and determination to succeed. Proud to her passing of her children, grandchildren Charles (Rachel Kesler) Barkey, Lina Marie Barkey, Christopher Allen (Tracy) Barkey and Aaron Mathew Flint, great-grandchildren, Brittany, Cole and McKenna Barkey.Funeral services will be held Thurs, April 20, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, where friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m. and Thurs. one hour prior to the service.
