THE BYU MEN'S CHORUS, Tuesday, April 4, 7:30 p.m., Kingsbury Hall, University of Utah. The chorus will perform a benefit concert for the Humanitarian Aid Relief Team (HART), which was organized in 1992 to excite and attract young people in the cause of humanity, and to improve health-care conditions in less-developed countries. THE BYU STRING ORCHESTRA, Tuesday, April 4, 7:30 p.m., de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU, Provo. The first half of this concert will feature a full orchestra with 120 musicians, performing works by French composers including Bizet, Saint-Saens and Offenbach; the second will feature a 40-person orchestra playing only string instruments as they perform works by Corelli, Mozart and Grieg. BYU VOCAL STUDENT OPERA RECITAL, Tuesday-Wednesday, April 4-5, 7:30 p.m., Madsen Recital Hall, BYU, Provo. Approximately 25 vocal students will perform selections from popular operas including "The Italian Girl in Algiers" and "Barber of Seville" by Rossini; "Cosi Fan Tutti," "Don Giovanni" and "The Magic Flute" by Mozart; and "Madame Butterfly" by Puccini. DENIS AZABAGIC, Thursday, April 6, 7:30 p.m., Eccles Conference Center, Harrison Auditorium, Utah State University. Award-winning classical guitarist Azabagic will perform works by Leo Brower, Joaquin Rodrigo, Francisco Tarrega, Manuel Maria Ponce, and Carlos Rivera on a nylon-string guitar in an all-classical concert. THE BYU DANCE DEPARTMENT SENIOR SHOWCASE "VOICES IN MOVEMENT," Thursday-Friday, April 6-7, 7:30 p.m., 166 Richards Building, BYU, Provo. This year's concert will have a modern dance focus. Five numbers are choreographed by seniors, and one is a guest piece. The cast includes Brittany Dunn as Hansel, Melissa Hamilton and Deon James double-cast as Gretel, and Laurie Hart and Bonnie Slade double-cast as the mother, with Brodie Perry as the father, Tamma Burningham as the Dew Fairy, Tammy Castleton as the Sandman and Loralee Choate as the Witch. ORCHESIS DANCE THEATER SPRING CONCERT, "TOUCH," Thursday-Saturday, April 6-8, 7:30 p.m., Allred Theater, Val A. Browning Building, Weber State University, Ogden. UTAH OPERA COMPANY PRESENTS "THE BARBER OF SEVILLE," Friday, April 7, 7 p.m., Peery's Egyptian Theater, Ogden. Performed by the Utah Opera Ensemble Studio Artists, this comic opera will be conducted by Douglas Kinney-Frost, adapted by stage director Sandra Bernhard to give the audience a unique backstage look at the opera. AWARD WINNING PERCUSSIONIST CONCERT, Friday, April 7, 7:30 p.m., Kent Concert Hall, Chase Fine Arts Center, USU. Two percussion ensembles, a USU ensemble and a high school marimba group, under the direction of Dennis Griffin, will perform a variety of percussion works. The marimba ensemble is comprised of students from Logan and Preston High Schools. The students have won several competitions, including the Percussion Festival, held in February at Timpview High School. The marimba ensemble will perform works by Bach, a Latin-inspired work by Pat Metheny and the "Chromatic Foxtrot" by G.H. Green. The USU Percussion Ensemble will perform "Concerto for Drum Set" by John Beck, "Portico" by Thomas Gauger and "Stars and Stripes Forever" by Sousa. Tickets are $3, available at the door.

THE OGDEN COMMUNITY CHOIR, Friday, April 7, 7:30 p.m., St. Mark's Cathedral. Under the direction of Evelyn Harris, the choir will perform Haydn's "The Creation." Haydn's work has been praised as one of the finest of his late choral compositions. The soloists and choir tell the story of the creation of the Heavens and the Earth. Free.

The 20-year-old bamboo-flute virtuoso from South India has been performing the bamboo flute since the age of 12, and his concerts feature a range of musical expression. The Lincoln Youth Symphony and the Bear River Choral Society will be joined by the Bear River High School Madrigals, A Cappella Choir, Advanced Women's Chorus and Soprano Leah Tarrant to perform John Rutter's "Requiem." Composed and first presented in 1985, Rutter's "Requiem" combines text from the Latin Mass for the Dead with selections from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and "Psalm 23" in English.
