Our dear wife, mother, and grandmother returned to her Father in Heaven on March 31, 2000 at her Taylorsville home surrounded by her family. She was 73.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 30, 1926 to Sidney Eugene Shegogue and Leona Pauline Nordstrom. She was three years old when she lost her mother but was nurtured, loved, and raised by her stepmother, Verona Hen retta Bahr, whom she loved very much.Claire married her sweetheart, Vernal L. Kresser, Jr. on July 11, 1946 and was sealed to him in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 22, 1953. She and Vernal completed an LDS Mission to Shawano, Wisconsin in 1985 and served as temple workers in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Claire served valiantly in her many church callings, including Relief Society President. Claire and Vernal enjoyed traveling and spending their summers at "the cabin" where many family memories continue to be made. She will be remembered for her unconditional love, tender heart and contagious smile. Her spirit and sparkle will go on living in the hundreds of lives she touched, especially her family's.
Survived by her husband, Vernal; children, Charlene Hayes (Kevin), Colleen Bywater (David), Cathleen Rowley (David), Richard K. Kresser, Connie Bytheway-Waters, Carryl Bytheway (Kerry), Darryl J. Kresser (Sherri); 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and
