Cavaliers 109, Celtics 103

CLEVELAND — Shawn Kemp missed his first five shots, then made his next eight, finishing with 22 points and 14 rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers handed the Boston Celtics their seventh straight loss, 109-103 Saturday night.

Cedric Henderson had a season-high 20 points in 24 minutes for Cleveland, including 12 points in the fourth quarter, and Lamond Murray added 19 points.

Henderson put the Cavaliers, who made 13 of 15 free throws in the final period, ahead to stay at 92-89 with 5:42 to play with a three-point play.

"Shawn couldn't get into any rhythm offensively because they were jamming him inside a lot," Cavs coach Randy Wittman said. "We made some bad feeds into him, too. The last seven minutes he was active and a presence on the boards, though."

Paul Pierce scored 22 points to lead Boston, which lost its seventh in a row.

"We had a game plan set, and at times we don't follow it," Pierce said. "It just goes to having our focus and concentrating."

Boston coach Rick Pitino said the Celtics' lack of defensive intensity was key.

Cedric Henderson scored a season-high 20 points in 24 minutes and sparked the Cavaliers early in the final quarter. His driving layup tied the score at 84 and capped a 22-12 run that started late in the third quarter.

HORNETS 90, BULLS 87: At Chicago, Elden Campbell scored 25 points and Eddie Jones added 23 as Charlotte won its sixth straight.

Anthony Mason had 15 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Hornets.

Chicago, loser of four in a row, got 24 points and eight rebounds from Elton Brand, while Ron Artest added 20 points.

ROCKETS 115, HAWKS 93: At Houston, Cuttino Mobley scored 24 points, Kenny Thomas had 18 points and 22 rebounds, and Kelvin Cato added 21 points and 15 rebounds for Houston, which ended a three-game losing streak against Atlanta.

Thomas, who tied his career best with six assists, and Cato each set a career high for rebounds.

Jim Jackson scored 21 points for the Hawks, who have lost 9 of 11 games. Alan Henderson added 20 points and Jason Terry 14, nine in the first quarter.

TRAIL BLAZERS 113, BUCKS 79: At Portland, Ore., Damon Stoudamire scored a season-high 31 points and tied a franchise record with seven 3-pointers as the Portland Trail Blazers handed the Milwaukee Bucks their worst loss of the season.

Scottie Pippen complained of blurred vision and left during the second quarter. He apparently suffered lingering effects from Thursday night's game against Dallas, when he was hit by teammate Jermaine O'Neal's elbow in the third quarter.

Pippen went to the locker room feeling woozy, but returned later in the period and finished with 19 points in 35 minutes against the Mavericks.

He started at small forward against the Bucks and played the first 11 minutes before leaving.
