I have just one question for Katherine Lee (who believes we need more gun control). How do you propose we keep guns out of the hands of criminals? No law will prevent criminals from getting guns. Isn't that why they're called criminals? They don't obey laws. If you want stiffer gun control, which mostly affects law-abiding citizens, then that oft-repeated phrase comes to mind: Only criminals will have guns.
Also, it is up to parents to keep guns out of the hands of children, not the government. Do you want "Big Brother" coming into your house to see if your gun is securely put away? The gun laws that are on the books now need to be enforced; we don't need more. The Second Amendment is still a part of our Constitution and we need to respect that amendment. Gun safety needs to be stressed more, not gun control.Cyndy McMullin
