Together Again

LaVerna Ruth Lloyd Kay, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, join-ed her sweetheart Alden "Jake" Kay April 21, 2000. She passed away peacefully in her home in Mesa, AZ.She was born December 3, 1912 in Draper, Utah to Joseph Hyrum and Lois Charlotte Wright Lloyd. She was the only daughter in a family of six boys.

She married Alden "Jake" Kay, January 19,1934. They raised six children together. She was loving and devoted wife and mother. She cherished her marriage of 69 years. her roles of wife and mother were the crowning achievements in her life. Her soft spoken sensitivity had a profound influence on her husband and children. Her fifteen grandchildren were blessed by her devoted love and attention. Here 23 great-grand-children were her pride and joy. She made all of them feel special and loved. She was a member of the LDS church and she loved the Relief Society. She gave years of unselfish service to the organization and enjoyed the associations she made there over the years. She loved cooking, flowers, and most importantly, her family. A sweet sensitivity, compassion, and love will be greatly missed by those blessed to have known and loved her.

She is survived by her six children, Don (Evelyn) Kay, St. George, Charlene Lloyd, Mesa, AZ, Nancy (Gordon) Jensen, Salt Lake, Lloyd (Carolyn) Kay, Salt Lake, Priscilla (Gregg) Armstrong, Kaysville, Gordon Kay, Mesa, AZ; Kim Kacin, who was like a son; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grand-children.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday April 26 at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Rd., where friends and family may call Tuesday April 25, 2000 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Redwood Cemetery.

Her spirit will live on in the lives of her

children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren
